Top Resources That Seriously Motivate You- Inspirational Books and Goal Setting

To continue on with my motivation series on my blog, I’m going to go through my Top Resources That Seriously Motivate You. I’m so excited to share these resources with you- as they are really some of the key things that really got me out of my post-grad rut and really into a more happier and purposeful lifestyle.

If you haven’t checked out any of my past blog posts in my Motivational Series on my blog, such as How to Kickstart Your Motivation, I highly recommend you do. There, I explained my new series on my blog all about motivation and how to get inspired, motivated and become your best self. After I graduated from college, I was really unmotivated and unsure of what to do with myself. I went from having a couple of jobs, loads of homework, a social life, and other involvement and responsibilities- to having practically none of that. This drastic change in my life really left me confused and long-story short-unmotivated. I knew that I wasn’t alone when it came to this feeling which is what left me with the idea of a motivational series on my blog- to help others who are going through something similar to what I went through.

Today, I’m going to share with you all of the tangible resources that really helped me get motivated. All these items are either free or very inexpensive and will instantly help you feel motivated and get your life back together.

As with the first post,  I hope that this post really helps you get motivated, get inspired, and help you on the journey of becoming your best self!

Inspiration Books:

You are a Badass:

This book is officially what got me out of my unmotivated rut. You are a Badass is a motivation book with a personal tone. It’s real and raw and really puts you in your place. Without even getting too far into the book, I instantly felt so motivated and wrote down some of my goals and how I was planning on accomplishing them. It a book that really puts things into perspective- which is sometimes what you need to get out of your rut.

Also- I found out that a lot of my Instagram followers also love the book too! After posting that I was reading that book on my Instagram story, a lot of people messaged me backing telling me how much they absolutely loved the book as well, which is amazing!

The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck:

I have just started this book, but it’s one of those books that really puts you in your place and motivates you as well. I’m excited to continue reading this within the next coming weeks. Along with You Are a Badass, I like to read a chapter or two each night. It’s the kind of book that I feel like I don’t have to sit down and read it all at once, but every now and again to really pick myself up, give me a new perspective and most importantly, motivate me.

Goal Setting:

Asana:

Asana is a great online workspace that’s perfect for freelancers or anyone who works online. I got introduced initially to Asana for a company that I work for remotely. However, when I started incorporating Asana for my own personal life and goal settings, that’s when I really started noticing a difference in my goals, goal planning, and then the motivation to actually reach my goals.

My next motivation blog post will be about goal setting and will dive into Asana even more so make sure to subscribe so you know when that’s posted.

 Planner:

I love Asana for larger, long-term goals, but having a planner is great for having day-to-day goals or schedule planning. I had the Erin Condren planner in college and although I absolutely loved it, I was in the mood for something different. I picked up a planner from Target for about a 1/3 of the price and I absolutely love it. I love planners that have the time slots as opposed to just some lines under each date. This way I’m able to play out my day, the top 3 things I want to accomplish and put things in an easy to read, manageable list of things to accomplish. When things are clearly laid out and possible, it makes it a lot easier to keep motivation and accomplish those goals.

Podcasts:

Podcasts are a great way to listen to motivational speakers and other people doing some really exciting things. However, I find that even listening to simple education podcasts help me feel more motivated as well. I find that when I listen to educational podcasts, I’m learning new information and therefore feel like I’m accomplishing something and putting myself in the right direction for the rest of the day. While you’re getting ready in the morning or when you’re driving in the car, try switching to a podcast instead of listening to the radio or music. See if you feel any different. I definitely do and I think that you will find the same.

I’ve mentioned on my blog in a motivational blog post I did while in college, that one of my favorite podcasts is GirlBoss. Sophia Amouruso the author of the book #Girlboss, which if you haven’t read I highly recommend you do. Sophia interviews different successful women about how they got where they are today and all the hard work they had to do to get to it. Hearing other women’s stories and that it wasn’t easy getting to where they are today, really motivates me and makes me in the mood to work hard so that I too can achieve my dreams and aspirations.

I hope you enjoyed this Motivations blog post. Make sure to subscribe because there are plenty more motivation posts to come including goal planning and how to actually achieve your goals!
