Clean With Me: My Favorite Cleaning Products

Favorite Cleaning Products

Last week, I officially relaunched my YouTube Channel. Many of you probably didn’t know, but before I created Our Wandering Mind, I did YouTube for a little bit, posting Outfit of the Days, College Advice, Tag Videos, and “Old School YouTube” kind of content. I was going to be a Freshman in college and loved doing videos…until my channel got suspended for “Copyright.”

Long story short, after trying to contact YouTube for years getting my channel back online, I was finally able to get it back on YouTube. My channel has been back online for a couple of years now and now is the time I finally decided to commit to relaunching my channel and making into something that currently represents me.

I would love if you checked out my YouTube Channel. You will find very similar style posts as you would find on my blog, except with my videos, I’ll be able to expand more on certain topics and be more creative, which I’m really looking forward to.

Ultimate Clean With Me: My Favorite Non-Toxic Cleaning Products

Today, I’m going to talk about my favorite cleaning products and what I specifically like to use them for. If you want to watch my Clean With Me video you can check that out here. There you can see how I specifically use the products and my cleaning methods. However, if you want to know in-depth why I use certain products or what I use them for, this post I’m going to go more in detail with my favorite cleaning products.

A little bit of background on my cleaning style. I like to think I’m a pretty clean and organized person. I’m not perfect and there are definitely times that my house is a disaster. However, overall, I enjoy having a neat and tidy home and find cleaning pretty therapeutic actually.

Of course, it hasn’t always been this way. I used to hate cleaning and my parents would tell me that my room looked like a tornado went through it. Something just switched within the last few years and now I would consider myself nearly a neat freak.

What I Look For in a Cleaning Product

Since I live in Australia, I don’t have access to a lot of natural brands that are available in the U.S. I absolutely love Mrs. Meyers brand, but it’s very difficult to get in Australia. However, Method Cleaning Products is one of my favorite cleaning brands and they’re available in Australia.

I love Method Cleaning products because they’re non-toxic cleaning products. We ingest a lot of chemicals not only through breathing them in but also through our pores through our skin. There are certain chemicals that are very difficult to avoid, but if I can limit the chemicals in my house by using non-toxic cleaning products, that’s definitely something I try to do. I also have a natural DIY Household Cleaner recipe on my blog if you’re interested in making your own natural cleaning spray.

Not only are Method products non-toxic, but they smell amazing and clean really well, which is why spending a little bit extra money to purchase them, is definitely worth it for me. I have the piece of mind that my animals and my partner and I are not ingesting tons of chemicals and it also makes the cleaning process more enjoyable using products I enjoy.

If you’re looking for motivation when it comes to clean, I highly recommend finding cleaning products that excite you or at least you enjoy using, whether that be the packaging, the smell, how clean it makes your house, whatever you find joy in, add that in your cleaning routine and you’ll be more inspired to do it.

What I Use to Clean Countertops and Surfaces

For all the surfaces in the house, we use Method Surface Sprays. The All-Purpose Cleaner can be used on every surface in your house. I mostly use it for any countertops, dressers, nightstands, tables, any type of surface in our house. It’s also great for spot cleaning spots on the tile.

My all-time favorite product from Method as mentioned in my Ultimate Clean With Me Routine is the Method Heavy Duty Degreaser. Once again it’s all natural, but it’s the perfect spray for any of those tough to clean places like your stove, food stains on the counter, or just anything that needs a little something extra to remove it. I swear this stuff works amazing and if you’re only going to try one product from Method, this is the product you should try!

For all the wood furniture in my house, I use the Method Wood for Good Daily Clean spray. I find that it cleans my wood furniture better than the All-Purpose Cleaner, which tends to leave the wood furniture a little streaky. It’s a nice almond scent which is the same as their hardwood cleaner if you have hardwood floors in your house, that’s a nice cleaning product to use as well.

How I Clean My Floors

If there’s one product I would say to invest in when it comes to cleaning, it’s definitely a Dyson Cordless Vacuum. We’ve had our Dyson for a few months now and it’s the best money we’ve ever spent. They are a hefty price tag starting at $299-$600 US for the vacuum, but if you’re someone who vacuums (or needs to) every day, this is the vacuum for you. With two cats who shed all the time, a little puppy, and two of us walking in and out of the house all the time, dirt, hair, dust, gets tracked through the house every single day.

When we had a traditional cord vacuum, it was always a hassle vacuuming and something that we would save only for the weekends because it was such a hassle. By the time the weekend would come around, the house would be filthy. Ever since we bought the Dyson Cordless vacuum, my partner and I vacuum every day, sometimes two or three times a day because it’s so quick and easy!

I have seen quite a few people complain about the 30-minute battery life with the Dyson Cordless Vacuums, but with our three-bedroom house, we’re able to vacuum the whole house multiple times on a single charge so it’s perfect for us!

Mopping

To mop my house on a daily or weekly basis, I tend to stick to using the Swiffer Sweeper Wet. If I’m looking for a deep clean, I use my steam mop with my Method Floor Cleaner, but for a quick mop, I use my Swiffer. I’m someone who loves vacuuming, but for some reason hates mopping so I try to find the easiest, quickest way to mop my house.

I absolutely love the scent of the Swiffer wet mopping cloths, yet I don’t think the products itself is all that great. I find that I need to use multiple wet cloths just to clean my tile floors so I’ll plan on using the wet pads that I have currently and look for an alternative when it comes to my Swiffer in the future. Laundry

When it comes to laundry, I haven’t found many products that I absolutely love. I am a huge fan of the Bounty Unstopables In-Wash Scent Boosters. Although I don’t like to use many chemicals when it comes to my cleaning, I make the exception for these scent boosters because they smell so good! I heard that there are other natural products when it comes to scent boosters, but unfortunately, I haven’t found many options when it comes to them in Australia. I’ll be keeping my eye out when it comes to all-natural laundry products.

I hope you enjoyed my Go-To Cleaning products and how I use them. If you haven’t watched my Ultimate Cleaning Routine Video I highly recommend you do so. I plan on posting so many more cleaning and organization videos on my channel along with routines, days in my life, and tons of other content. If any of those topics sound interesting to you, definitely consider subscribing! What are your go-to cleaning products? Let me know in the comments down below!
